At Greater Deliverance Church of God Ministries, we believe in taking our faith beyond the walls of our church and into the world. We are involved in a variety of local and global outreach programs, from feeding the hungry to supporting missionaries around the world. We call it Helping Hand Ministry.
Meet Our Founder – Reverend Garnet Kingsley Morrison
Welcome to Greater Deliverance Church of God Ministries! Our story begins with the unwavering faith and vision of Reverend Garnet Kingsley Morrison, a devoted servant of God whose life has been dedicated to ministry and community transformation.
A Journey of Faith
Born in Saint Andrew, Paisley District, Jamaica, Reverend Morrison embraced his calling early in life. In 1978, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the Bible Truth Church of God. His passion for ministry led to his ordination as a Junior Minister in 1980 by his grandfather, the late Bishop Norman Hawthorne.
Education and Preparation
After migrating to the United States in 1981, Reverend Morrison pursued theological and leadership training, earning a postgraduate degree in Theology from the Bible Church of Christ Theological Institute in the Bronx, NY. He also completed studies in consumer electronics at SCS School of Computer Studies and TCI Technical Career Institute, reflecting his commitment to excellence in both ministry and practical skills.
Leadership and Growth
Reverend Morrison’s ministry journey includes serving as Assistant Pastor at Bible Truth Church of God in New York and later leading Bronx Bible Truth Church of God. In 1993, he accepted the pastoral role at Community Gospel Truth Church of God, where he introduced dynamic programs such as Sunday School, Evangelism, and Children’s Ministry. His leadership earned him the title of Overseer, affirming his impact on the church community.
Founding Greater Deliverance
In May 2010, guided by divine direction, Reverend Morrison founded Greater Deliverance Church of God Ministries, Inc. The first service was held in his Bronx home with 45 members. Within weeks, services moved to a school auditorium, then to a rented building on East 215th Street. In December 2015, the ministry celebrated a major milestone by purchasing its permanent home at 52 West Kingsbridge Road, Mount Vernon, NY.

Under Reverend Morrison’s leadership, Greater Deliverance has grown into a vibrant, Christ-centered community offering:
